Home treatment for eczema on the scalp can include special, over-the-counter shampoo or home remedies for scalp eczema.

Treating eczema affecting the scalp starts with keeping the scalp clean. Shampoos made for seborrheic dermatitis can help treat scalp eczema. Cradle cap can be treated with baby oil. Baby oil can be applied and allowed to soak into the cradle cap. With a brush, the skin of cradle cap can be gently loosened from the scalp. After the cradle cap has been removed, the baby oil should be completely washed from the baby’s scalp. Baby oil left on the head can make cradle cap worse.
